The main purpose of the research was to verify the question in its title, based on the results of a mass poll in which more than a thousand respondents took part. Participants were offered situational tasks in which they were required to make a decision, trusting a certain source. The classical triad characterizing human capital, knowledge, information and transparency, was encrypted in the answer options. The violation of the ranking order of this triad in the respondents’ answers was tested. As a result, a significant deviation was diagnosed. The dependence of the deviation degree was tested for the four factors – gender, age, occupation and level of education of the participants. The last factor showed the highest impact on the result. Thus, an unexpected dependence was revealed: with the growth of the educational level of the respondents, the number of violations of the ranking order increased.
